To help you improve your eyeshadow application, we have prepared a list of eyeshadow tips. Once you get in the game, your eyes will look bigger, lifted and more youthful. So the people won't be able to take their eyes off you!
Here is the list below:
Eyeshadow Primer
It is very important that you prime your lids, before applying eyeshadow because it will make the eyeshadow easier to blend and to stay in place. Eyeshadow primer can make pigments stand out and look more vibrant., also it will even out skin color and discoloration.
There are many eyeshadow primers, like Revlon Colorstay eyeshadow primer, up to 24 hours od staying power, crease-free eye shadow that last all day. Made with a shea butter care complex, the primer’s lightweight formula provides a smooth surface for eye shadow application. The color looks freshly applied all day, and the primer’s universal shade works on all skin tones.
Understand the shape of your eyes
Understanding your eye shape is essential, to improve your eyeshadow game.
For example, if you have hooded eyes (where your upper eyelid is heavy and sits over part of your lid), you should blend your shadows up and outwards to help open up your eye and make them look larger, as you typically have less eyelid to play with,
If you have round eyes, you can also blend outwards, while highlighting below the brow bone and in the inner corners of the eye. This will create the illusion of a larger eye, as the highlighter will draw out the diagonal points of the eye.
Your eye color is very important
Knowing what best flatters your eye color is the first step to making your eyes shine. If you use eyeshades that do not complement, your eyes may look dull or washed out.
Choosing the wrong shades may have a counterproductive influence on your overall style. Although it is tempting to match your eyeshadow with your eyes, pay close attention to the undertones in your eyes and use complementing hues in your make up.

Find the right brushes
Knowing which brushes to use is very important, which means to get more intense pigment and less fallout you need to use the right brush, and which brush is perfect for blending or detailed looks.
To avoid the excess of pigment on your eyelids or around the eyes, simply tap off the brush before you apply the eyeshadow, or apply your eyeshadow first, before your makeup (complexion).
No need to spend a fortune, there are so many affordable brushes on the market.
Here is a picture of the eyeshadow brush guide from Blank Canvas Cosmetics.
The must-have brushes are blending brush, flat shader brush, flat brush, short pencil brush, large eyeshadow brush. One great eyeshadow tip- always change the brushes when you apply different color eyeshadow.
Blend, blend, blend...
Now that you have the right brushes, it's time to master the blending technique. Don't worry, it may take some time, practicing is the key. You can also experiment and mix and match the eyeshadow colors, just make sure to tap off the excess pigment before applying it to your lid.
For an open and lifted eye, drag and blend the eyeshadow outwards and up, towards the tail of the brow. Never blend eyeshadow downwards, as may result in droopy and tired eyes.
Don't forget your lower lash line, you can go a shade deeper than the one on your eyelids, or a soft brown for an everyday look. Another tip to open up the eye is to use a beige eyeliner pencil over your lower lash line.
Always define your crease by placing the eyeshadow into the crease, you will add more depth and your eye swill look bigger. If you are doing everyday makeup, use a shade of brown two shades darker than your skin tone, which will add dimension to your eye.
